CONGRATULATIONS TO DEAN ALI ALBURATI, OUR 2008-09 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT! Dean was awarded $1000.00.
This college scholarship is awarded in honor of Joseph Booth-Metwally, member of the Galileo Academy of Science and Technology Class of 2007, student in Galileo’s Academy of Information Technology program (AOIT), Captain of the Galileo Lions Championship Wrestling Team and All-City Champion of the Academic Athletic Association/CA Interscholastic Federation Wrestling Championships in 2006.
The Joseph Booth-Metwally Scholarship is open to Galileo graduating male seniors. A grant of at least $500.00 will be paid to an institution of higher learning on behalf of the grantee for an academic year.
REQUIREMENTS
1) A typed essay of 300 words written by the applicant on the topic,
“HOW I HELPED TO MAKE GALILEO A WELCOMING AND CARING COMMUNITY FOR ALL STUDENTS”
Also include answers to the following questions:
What four-year college will you attend? Why did you choose this college?
What is your occupational goal? Why did you choose this occupation?
What will this grant mean to you?
2) Two letters of recommendation with phone numbers from teachers under whom you have had classes, club advisors and/or coaches.
3) A grade-point average of 2.0 to 3.0 for all work completed in grades 9 through 12 verified by the signature of a Galileo counselor.
